Colours give good contrast with the foreground, not to mension the message. Though i migt suggest that the figures pose could be more distressed than sad and gloomy, because that kinda signifies that he's lazy...There's always obstacles but you can always get there is what you'll realise after you do get that feeling...so close...yet so far....

He looks like he's ready to turn back, like he wants to take the plunge but doesn't have the willingness to. Very beautifully rendered, and a great way to convey an obvious message without the cheeziness.

onto actual comments ON the picture...i love how u actually captured the so close yet so far. the concept is beautiful.its like u can almost feel the other side...its a stones throw away. i love ur pose...so dejected. also the squiggly scribbls on the top rock. aweosme piece...wonderful textures =)

Anyway, I like this picture a lot. The background reminds me of my summer house. Oh yea, I do get that feeling sometimes. Well done again Mr. Casteels.

I really like this piece, very refreshing in a weird sense. The colors on the right add such a nice touch, kind of reflecting how happiness feels.
